Visit of UK Ambassador

29 March, 2019

Mrs. Kate Harrison, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Peru, together with Silvana Rebaza (Economic Development Officer of the British Embassy) visited our facilities – in Virú, Salaverry and the industrial complex in Trujillo – as part of our involvement in the EO4Cultivar project (Earth Observation for Cultivar). During the tour of our facilities, the visitors learned about the project’s management model and progress, now in its second year, in our different planted areas.

EO4Cultivar is a joint project with the British company Environment Systems and with the support of the UK Space Agency. It consists of technology transfer and learning about use of tools that allow for analyzing and taking advantage of satellite spectral images, which show the vegetative state and condition of crops. This enables identification of anomalies and risks related to their nutritional and water status, and of problems related to pests and diseases. Such tools will undoubtedly lead us to improve our agricultural management, facilitating global analyses of all farms, so that our agronomists can make more assertive and timely decisions.

At this visit the diplomatic delegation meet our company’s senior executives, headed by Rosario Bazán, our General Manager, and Jorge Arangurí, Executive Director, who introduced them to Danper’s innovation, productivity, sustainability and environmental initiatives to demonstrate the company’s commitment to these principles and to create a favorable scenario to continue working on joint projects in the short term. Always one step ahead!
