DANPER AND RAMIRO ÑIQUE ALTERNATIVE BASIC EDUCATION CENTER SIGN AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF TRUJILLO

• Catholic University of Trujillo tenth cycle students will monitor and facilitate the academic progress of the workers of the agro-industrial company who study at CEBA Danper.

Danper, a leading company in the production and export of fine fruits and vegetables, and the Alternative Basic Education Center-CEBA Ramiro Ñique, in Moche district, recently signed an inter-institutional agreement with the Catholic University of Trujillo “Benedict XVI” conducive to improving the academic performance of 290 adult students who are currently workers at the La Libertad  agribusiness outfit.

Signed on International Literacy Day This agreement, is included in the objectives of the CEBA Danper program, reflecting the company’s commitment to close the educational gap and promote access to inclusive, equitable and quality education. Thanks to this program executed in partnership with CEBA Ramiro Ñique, the company’s workers who failed to finish school can resume their basic studies, finish them and thus continue their personal growth. To date, nearly 100 workers have earned their school certificates through this program.

This ceremony was attended by Danper’s  co-founder and general manager Rosario Bazán; the vice-rector of the Catholic University of Trujillo, Silvia Valverde Zavaleta; and the director of the Alternative Basic Education Directorate, Lucila Landeo Sánchez; among others.

“Since the beginning of our operations 28 years ago, we prioritize the care and development of our human capital because we know that its development is the only sustainable source of our business competitiveness,” said Rosario Bazán.

Danper reported that this new agreement will be valid for 2 years, during which the Catholic University of Trujillo will assign students from the tenth cycle as pedagogical companions for the CEBA program. They will provide academic support and monitor learning progress of Danper workers enrolled in primary and secondary school.

“There is a high correlation between the level of development of a country and the quality of its educational system. It is key to understand that education is an essential factor for the progress of people, communities and our country”, Bazán remarked.

It should be noted that the alliance between CEBA Ramiro Ñique and Danper, already in its sixth year, is part of the company’s sustainability strategy and management model based on the creation of Shared Value, which connects its economic profitability with the advancement of its workers, their families and communities.
