DANPER RECOGNIZED AMONG PERU’S TRANSFORMATIVE COMPANIES

Danper is among 21 companies on the list of ‘Companies that Transform Peru 2021’, a recognition granted by IPAE, Frida and Manuel Delgado Parker Association, USAID, FSG and RPP. The company has earned this recognition after an exhaustive evaluation of its Comprehensive Capacity Training and Development Program (PREDICA) that fosters the development of technical and soft skills and abilities among  rural and urban vulnerable adult population who lack academic training or experience to perform jobs to which they may apply.

This program allows local people to increase their income and get formal dignified jobs and opens development opportunities, contributing to improve their and their families’ quality of life, as well as their employability and competitiveness. Simultaneously, it contributes to boosting the company’s competitiveness, satisfying the high demands of the global market for vegetables and fine fruits, while abiding by the highest social, environmental and economic standards.

The PREDICA Program, an initiative nominated by Danper to the List of Companies that Transform Peru, is designed following the company’s Human Capital management guidelines to preserve the health of and provide comprehensive care to workers y providing free of charge quality health care through a network of medical centers located in each of Danper’s facilities. Moreover, it fosters gender equity, empowers women and encourages personal and professional growth through education and training.

This social and economic initiative has so far reached about 11,500 male and female workers and their families.

The evaluation was carried out by FSG, a leading international consulting firm in Shared Value founded by Michael Porter and Mark Kramer, and considers three analysis criteria, namely impact on society, results for the business and integrity.

This recognition confirms the company’s commitment to creating Shared Value, present since its foundation and which is the basis of the company’s management model, and relates efficient investments and economic profitability to the social progress of its workers and communities. The creation of Shared Value contributes to preserving the social peace required for the company’s operations to be sustainable in the short and long terms.

The call to join this list resulted in participation of 115 companies and is inspired by the Change the World List initiative, a roster of 100 global companies published annually by  FSG and Fortune.
