DANPER: PERU´S FIRST AGROINDUSTRIAL COMPANY TO RECEIVE MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT’S 4th CARBON FOOTPRINT PROGRAM STAR

  • For the third consecutive year, the agro-industrial company from La Libertad reduces its carbon footprint

Danper agro-industrial company received its fourth star in the Peru Carbon Footprint Program (HC-Peru) sponsored by Peru’s Ministry of the Environment (Minam). This recognition is given only to organizations that keep track of and can certify having effectively reduced their emissions. This achievement makes Danper the first and only Peruvian agribusiness to obtain this seal.

Over the last three years, Danper has gradually reduced its carbon footprint in its canned, fresh and frozen products industrial operations, as well as in its agricultural operations at the Compositan, Muchik and Casa Verde farms. This reduced carbon footprint is ISO 14064-1 certified.

The company’s environmental management plan highlights its energy eco-efficiency efforts such as the use of precision electronic devices, specifically designed and used to track electricity consumption, using solar panels, improved LED technology lighting systems, and other initiatives.

The ‘Carbon Footprint Peru’ (HC-Peru) program seeks to contribute to Peru’s sustainable growth and has the support of the Project for the Implementation of Climate Goals sponsored by the Ministry of the Environment, with technical assistance provided by the United Nations Development Program comprised in the International Climate Protection Initiative.
