Danper wins first place in MERCO’s Social Responsibility and Corporate Governance Award

For the third consecutive year, Danper ranked first in the agribusiness sector for its outstanding Social Responsibility and Corporate Governance management, announced Monitor Empresarial de Reputación Corporativa (Merco) consulting firm last Wednesday. This accomplishment coincides with the top positions in its field reached in the latest editions of Merco Talent and Merco Reputation.

The company also ranks among the top 45 Peruvian companies comprised in the general ranking. This year, the company climbed 35 positions, from position 80 to 45, since the last survey.

Danper agro-industrial company has grown steadily building on the foundational principles of quality, innovation, diversification and sustainability. Its good practices are validated by global certifications that set it apart in its sector, such as respect for human and labor rights (such as SA 8000), gender equity (EDGE), occupational health and safety (OHSAS 18001), environmental stewardship (ISO 14001) , sustainable use of water (Alliance for Water Stewardship), fair trade (Fair Trade Certified), among others.

From the onset of the health emergency, the company set itself two clear objectives: to take care of the health and integrity of our people and to preserve the continuity of our operations. With this clear north in mind, Daner deployed and adapted a number of initiatives, including the design and implementation of prevention and health care protocols, led by a team of specialists of the company’s Comprehensive Medical Care Center; a program to provide humanitarian relief in response to the pandemic; community projects coordinated with several stakeholders to build a hospital in Virú in less than 40 days and an oxygen plant in Trujillo; the virtual adaptation of the Center for Alternative Basic Education -CEBA- for workers who had not completed their school curriculum,  and the Victoria program addressing gender equality issues, to mention just a few examples.
